Every step of my procedure [total knee replacement], from initial consultation to surgery to post-op care, was excellent. Mr Chou was consistently informative and reassuring. Not only would I recommend him to friends/acquaintances needing similar surgery: I would say that I cannot conceive of a better choice than Mr Chou and his team.

I had a total hip replacement in Febuary, and the whole procedure from my inital consultation in November to my operation in Febuary was faultless. Mr Chou was very good in explaining the procedure, and answered all my questions and took time to listern and allayed any concerns I had. The after care from Mr Chou/the nurses /physiotherapist / and Nuffield staff was excellent.

I had a knee replacement in early December. I had had a pre operation meeting with Mr Chou who explained what would happened and the probable length of stay. The operation was straight forward and my recovery too, due to great care from all the staff. I was able to do exercises quite easily, due in part, to having lived in a top floor flat for 18 years which has no lift!
The surgery was so good that by 6 weeks I had no pain in my knee at all. The relief was profound and my life is quite different now.
If I had a friend who had problems with knees or hips I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Chou. His manner is friendly, kind and always professional in his approach. I certainly was sure that what he told me was the truth. Added to that, Mr Chou is a great listener.
I am due to have a second knee replacement in the next few weeks and I am sure it will be as successful as the last one.

Dr Chou is a very caring surgeon. When I first met him, I was very impressed. He said I should have a new hip. The care I received was 100% and if I have to have any further surgery, I would like Dr Chou to do it for me. The care whilst I was in the Nuffield was excellent from every department. I cannot rate Dr Chou highly enough.

Mr Chou is a dual fellowship trained Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon currently working as a full-time Consultant, at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. He specialises in hip and knee replacements as well as pelvic, acetabular and lower limb fracture surgery. In 2019 he was presented with the “You Made a Difference Award” at Addenbrookes Hospital for his dedication to patient care, improving patient pathways and supporting the multi-professional team.
After studying Medicine at University College London, he completed orthopaedic surgical training in London; where he gained experience at world-renowned hospitals. Mr Chou attained Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in England and was awarded Certificate of Completion of Training. Since then, he has completed nearly two years of advanced senior fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee replacements at the Royal London Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. In addition, he has undertaken a further year of advanced senior fellowship training in pelvic and acetabular reconstruction at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. His dual training provides him with unique expertise to not only expertly perform primary hip and knee replacements; but he is also able to undertake the more complex surgeries and even the re-do operations for hip replacements that need revising.
